Glenn Eugene Corbin

April 10, 1933 - January 18, 2013

Funeral Services for Mr. Glenn Eugene "Sky" Corbin, 79, of Milburn, Oklahoma will be held on Monday, January 21st, 2013 at 2:00 p. m. at the First Baptist Church in Milburn with Rev. Kenneth McCarthick officiating, assisted by Rev. Lyndol Adams. Music will be provided by Johnny Shackleford and Gary Walker. Interment will follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery. Mr. Corbin passed away on January 18th, at his home.

"Sky" was born on April 10th, 1933 in Duncan, Oklahoma to Howard Eugene Corbin and Naomi C. (Slaten) Corbin. He graduated from high schoolin Levelland, Texas in 1951 and attended Texas Tech University for 1 1/2 years before enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1953. While in the service, he married Pat Brown on June 26th, 1954 in Riverside, California and served in the service until 1957, the last two years as a radio operator at Elmendorf AFB in Anchorage, Alaska. They returned to Levelland and "Sky" became a DJ for the local radion station, later moving to Brownfield, Texas also as a DJ. He and his brother, Ray, also known as "Slim", talked their Dad into a down payment on Radio Station KLLL in Lubbock, Texas. He ran that station and later an FM station before selling out to the partners and moving to Milburn. He ranched for a year before returning to radio in Madill, Oklahoma. "Sky" became manager and part owner of KMAD radio in 1974. He ran the station until 1997, when he retired. "Sky" had a passion for country music and sang and played at the Reagan Jubilee, the Mead Country Music Place as often as possible and also at the Gene Autry Festival.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Clovis Ray "Slim" Corbin.

"Sky" is survived by his wife Pat, of the home; his daughter & son-in-law, Kelly and Billy Ryan of Tishomingo; three sons & daughters-in-law, Glenn "Gene" and Mary Corbin, Scott and Kristin Corbin, all of Durant, Oklahoma and Jason and Leanne Corbin of Tishomingo; his brother & sister-in-law, Larry and Jackie Corbin of Lubbock, Texas; his sister & brother-in-law, Carol and Ed Nunnelley of Benbrook, Texas; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; other relatives and a host of friends.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Gene, Scott and Jason Corbin, Billy, Josh and B. J. Ryan. Honorary Bearers will be: James Rowland and Dallas Boggs.
